Nancy Springer How to Be a Sinner: Finding Yourself in the Language of Repentance by Peter Bouteneff Although a class on how to be a sinner may sound quite exhilarating to some, I do not want anyone to be misled. Our conversation will be an exploration of what it is to be human, created by an infinite, loving God in the image of God, with the gift and challenge of freewill. In the class we will talk about our creation story, seeing ourselves rightly in relationship with God, what it means to miss the mark (aka ‘sin’), and what it is to love ourselves as God loves us. And, I promise, I will not claim that any of us are ‘wretched’! As our guide, I will use the book noted above but you are not required to purchase the book. I do highly recommend it but I’ll provide the content of the book in our weekly conversations. Beginning the week of March 10 through the week of April 7. Conversations will take place at these times: Mondays @ 7:30am Tuesdays @ 11:30am Tuesdays @ 6:00pm |
