Acolytes

The acolyte ministry is open to everyone age seven and up.  We are very much in need of acolytes who can be trained and move quickly into the Senior Server/Crucifer position.  If you feel led to join in this service to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ please contact:

Altar Guild

Assist in the preparation of the altar for every worship service.

Brotherhood of St. Francis

All men are welcome to attend our meetings and join us in our projects at St. Francis Church and in the community. 

Our Brotherhood Disciplines are: The Discipline of Prayer, the Discipline of Service, the Discipline of Study.

Choir

The choir consists of adults who love to sing and are willing to offer this gift during our worship.  Practices are held Thursday at 6:30pm in the church.

Christian Education

Programs for adults, teenagers and children.  The adult class may deal with topics that are of interest to those who want to know more about their faith.   

Pre K through grade 3

Grades 6, 7 and 8

Cursillo

The Daughters of the King

An order for women who have dedicated themselves to a ministry of prayer and service.  They meet once a month to pray and reflect on their lives as servants of Christ and His Church.  The national website is: http://www.doknational.org/welcome.htm

Drama Ministry

St. Francis members who enjoy acting or working behind the scenes.  They present Christian drama several times each year.  They may perform during a worship service or at a pot luck supper.  The drama ministry is currently looking for someone who would be interested in leading this group.

E.C.W.
(Episcopal Church Women)

This group meets monthly for fellowship and a program of interest to members.  Any woman who is a member of St. Francis by the Lake is a member of the E.C.W.

Evangelism
(Newcomers)

This group prepares training for Greeters to welcome newcomers to our church, and learns about and participates in evangelism activities.

E Y C /Youth Group

The teenagers in the church gather twice a month for fellowship and fun. They meet with their sponsors for Bible study and the planning of outreach activities as well as recreational activities.

F.E.A.S.T.
(Friends Eating And Sharing Together)

 Friends Eating and Sharing Together are dinner groups that meet to provide an opportunity for the members of St. Francis to become better acquainted with each other.  Each group member may host a dinner at their home, a picnic, a restaurant gathering, a brunch, or any type of meal they care to plan. The host provides the main course and the other group members bring complementary dishes. This is a wonderful way for everyone to become more acquainted. The groups are changed several times during the year.

Flower Guild

This group prepares the flower arrangements used on the altar for services.  The group meets occasionally for flower arrangement demonstrations and instruction. The flower guild also maintains the Flower Dedication sign-up sheets for anyone wanting to donate the flowers as a memorial or remembrance.

Greeters

Identify and welcome newcomers to our services, carry elements to the altar for communion.

Hospitality 

Volunteers provide refreshments for coffee hour after the Sunday morning services.  Sign-up sheets are in the narthex.

Inquirer's Class

Those seeking answers about Christianity or about St. Francis, and those interested in renewing their understanding, are invited to Inquirers Classes.   Inquirers may join at any time; information missed will be presented again as needed.

Landscape

Anyone interested in landscape is invited to join this group to maintain and improve the landscape on our grounds.

Lay Eucharistic Ministers

Lead the prayers and administer the chalice.

Memorials

Volunteers maintain the memorial funds and record books and acknowledge memorials given to the church.

Men's Fellowship

Meets on the first Wednesday of the month at 7:00 a.m. for breakfast and a program.

Nursery

St. Francis by the Lake has a fully staffed nursery to care for your young children. The children are provided a safe and fun environment with Christian songs and stories.

Office Help

Volunteers assist the secretary and rector in office activities such as folding and labeling the monthly Franciscan and the Sunday bulletins, and answering the phones as needed.

Order of St. Luke's

Those participating receive training on how to pray with others to provide a healing ministry.

Outreach

This committee provides labor and funds for projects which will improve the quality of life for Canyon Lake area citizens.

Pot-luck Suppers

Just a fun way to enjoy fellowship with St. Franciscans and welcome newcomers.  Suppers are held on the 3rd Wednesday of the month at 6:00 p.m.  During Lent, soup suppers are held every Wednesday night. 
 

Spiritual Formation
(Wednesday study group)

Wednesday mornings at 10:00 a.m. a group meets in the parish hall to study either the Bible or a spiritual book that will help us in our walk with Christ.

Sunday School Teachers

Instruct and inspire pupils from 3 years old through senior  and adults. Additional teachers are always welcome.

World Missions Action Team

A group of mission minded church members who serve God as Go-ers, Send-ers, or Pray-ers in world missions.  St. Francis Church supports a number of World Mission programs and for the past several years has sent our own short term missionaries to Honduras.
